Why do people insist on belonging to a racial minority that is known for being poor? Moreover, it always warms my heart to hear people criticize the poor for being poor. Moreover, the more the public looks at the poor as the root of our economic problems, the more corporate welfare I can get without anyone noticing or doing anything about it. If you studied medicine, you wouldn’t be poor; moreover, you wouldn’t have to pay expensive doctors’ or hospital bills. A COLA (cost-of-living adjustment) increase for Congressional pay was passed in 1987. Now Congress automatically gets a pay raise unless they take action to cancel it. Don’t come begging to us when you want a pay raise. Just because you don't have full time work, have to sell plasma to pay rent and can't always afford a meal doesn't mean you are poor, especially if you have a car you can't afford the gas for. Can you imagine Congress taking action on anything, especially to cut their own pay raises? And it's the poor’s fault we cut social spending. Liberals think social factors like childhood and spousal abuse, parental drug addiction, growing up poor, mental illness, bad schools, lack of education or job skills, racial, sexual, and free adult tubes age discrimination, drug riddled neighborhoods, gun violence, low wages, unemployment, jobs moving overseas, lack of jobs, rising health-care costs, lack of job training, lack of adult education, racial redlining and what not have something to do with poverty.
