The next episode that you appear in has you helping a family with a parent who's partially deaf and a special needs child. How much does that change your design? What kinds of things were you able to do to accomodate their handicaps?  
  
Before starting the inter design process, develop an appropriate mood. Consider your room's overall purpose. Do you wish to relax in an oasis away from the daily grind? Do you wish to do actual work there? Will you be amusing guests within this space? You should think about how color will make your room 'feel'.  
  
T.: My biggest project is to continue working on the launch of the Thom Filicia Home Collection and expand the line and distribution. I am also currently working on another book which is due out next year while balancing exciting design projects and new media opportunities. Modern negative space has turned towards a contemporary feel. That is to say, someone who walks in from time to time over a period of years will not find the decor feeling dated. Instead, the home feels fresh and current every time they arrive. Colors are muted with maybe a wall painted in a complementary color other than beige or white. Furniture is conservative in nature with nothing outrageous such as a zebra striped sofa, maybe a rug, but never the sofa itself. Interior design has come a long way from the days of decorating a kitchen in orange and green with a linoleum floor, a la the 1970's.  
  
Pick the boldest, brightest color of the three, and shop for smaller accent pieces - like bowls, flowers, and throw pillows - that match that color. These small accessories will bring your room to life, providing brilliant pops of color that perk up the visual interest of a space. When you arrange these accessories in your room, be sure to spread them out. Don't place all of your hot pink bowls on one shelf; arrange a vase of pink flowers on the coffee table, place a pink throw pillow on the improvement advice everyone, and group three pink bowls on the shelf.  
  
If you have excess lighting in your loft, play this up by adding bright cheery throw pillows and other accents. If you love plants, a loft may be the perfect place for them if you have skylights. Loft interior home decor should always reflect your tastes.  
  
This color scheme, by local efficient server design firm, hauthaus, inc. was inspired by their clients' love of the mangrove trees down near Captiva Island off of Florida.  
  
Placing of mirrors and wall hangings such as pictures and art will go a long way in completing your new home customer loyality design plans. However, do not over clutter the walls. Establish some key focal points around the room that will complement the overall design of your room.  
  
Make sure you don't neglect any details, no matter how small they may be. You can come up with a great new look by changing around different color patterns and adding new elements to a room. You can change the look of your furniture by changing the hardware and knobs.
