The next episode that you appear in has you helping a family with a parent who's partially deaf and a special needs child. How much does that change your design? What kinds of things were you able to do to accomodate their handicaps?  
  
inter design process I have put a lot of thought into this and now that banks are not lending money to people, the home improvement market to move up had - I hate to say it - has dried up. What I have noticed that a lot of interior design firms are shrinking down because homeowners are staying where they are and not spending on interior design. So, what is a San Diego interior designer to do? Well, I have noticed a lot of building are investing and upgrading their building, whether it's the fix the outside or upgrade for earthquakes or just changing the color of paint. It's pretty exciting to see and keep the faith. Things will always work out!  
  
T.: My biggest project is to continue working on the launch of the Thom Filicia Home Collection and expand the line and distribution. I am also currently working on another book which is due out next year while balancing exciting design projects and new media opportunities. Good home walls can be killed by too much clutter. If you have too much stuff that is making it hard to decorate, consider getting a storage unit for your extra things. If you have lots of outdoor space, you could purchase an inexpensive storage building.  
  
Does it seem strange to talk of designing a relationship? It's really not because we think of an ideal relationship in our mind long before we have met someone and that is what I call a Relationship Design. Often the best way to start a project like this is to work from a focal point, or center of attention. This can come in many different forms but is normally the shower curtains. It is typically the biggest accessory in the bath, and it gives the designer the opportunity to set the tone and mood for the rest of the design small living. By allowing the kids to select them for their bathroom can be a great learning experience.  
  
Keep it clean - a potential buyer does not want to see your everyday lived-in mess. Yes, this means picking up after yourself in the mornings and before you go to bed. De-clutter the house by throwing out what you no longer need, or try selling it in a garage sale. Clean up the kids' toys and store them in baskets. Keep everything else in storage totes for the time being.
